Expert Group 5: Air

Aims and Objectives

The overall aim of EG5 is to bring together researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders to discuss about pricing reforms in the air sector. The Expert Group is the platform for an effective exchange of opinions and experiences, which aims at supporting consensus building and at highlighting priority areas for research and policy making. This overall objective is articulated as follows:

• Highlight progresses, gaps, uncertainties in the measurement of social costs related to the use of air transport infrastructure;

• Analysis and interpretation of current practices in tariff setting in EU-25;

• Analysis of enabling factors and barriers to the implementation of pricing reforms in EU-25;

A particular attention will be given to the possibilities and implications of reforms in pricing policies in the New Member States.
