Expert Groups

The Experts Groups (EG) are small workshops gathering a maximum of 15 persons invited to discuss about specific topics. The Network will include 6 EG, each of them focussing on a specific topic. The EG members are appointed by the Steering Group upon indication of the responsible Partner. The EG meets four times during the whole project. Before each workshop, two or more Experts are invited by the responsible partner to prepare presentations to feed the discussion. The presentation must be available in advance to the Experts joining the EG. The operation of the EGs is similar to that adopted within the High Level group technical meetings: a drafter is appointed (one of the partners) within each EG during the first meeting (possibly from partners). He/she will summarise the main issues arisen during the discussion in a report which will feed into the discussion of the following EG meetings.

Each EG will be coordinated by a chairperson, appointed at the outset of the series of workshops among the most leading scientists in the field. The chairperson is responsible for the preparation of the topics to be discussed in the workshops (in close collaboration with the project partners), for the animation of the workshop and for drawing conclusions at the end of the workshop. Moreover he/she provides comments on the summary of the workshop produced by the drafter.
